Eco-Friendly is a product that is not harmful to the environment, otherwise known as an ‘Earth-Friendly’ product. The term Eco-Friendly has been derived from two meanings. Firstly, Eco is an abbreviation for ‘Ecology’. Ecology is the arrangement of relationships between people and organisms, how they relate to each other and their environment.
Ecology is important because it enriches our planet and is climacteric for prosperity and human wellbeing. The ‘Friendly’ meaning, gives an implication of beneficial, something that is not dangerous or harmful.
To be clear, Eco-Friendly is not the same as Environmentally Friendly, despite the fact that their meanings are similar. Environmentally friendly is the clarification of a product being beneficial to the environment, which can be products, buildings, design, and packaging, among other things.
Eco Friendly is not quite as comprehensive. It simply means that it is not harmful to the planet. So at no point in the process of creation, usability or waste, has the product harmed the planet. By having an Eco-Friendly product or service, you are promoting positive, safe, non-harmful effects on living things.
As one of our core values, Eco-Friendly promotion and identity are key for us in our contribution as a business to not funding mass product production where harmful pollutants are released into the air and water.
