What is an essential oil?
Essential oils can be used in all sorts of ways in different products to be beneficial to you. You can find them in the skin and hair care products, candles, and, just as pure oils.
Essential oils are oils that have been extracted from plants such as herbs, leaves, and bark. The term ‘essential’ derives not in the nutritional sense, but that it contains the ‘essence’ of the fragrance characteristic from the plant it came from.
Essential oils are most commonly used for aromatherapy purposes, as an alternative to modern medicine, where the effects of healing are attributed to the aromatic composites.
These oils are made using varying extraction methods, a popular one being the ‘cold press method’ due to how much more of the oil’s natural properties this process retains. If the oil has been extracted via a cold-press method, it will usually have more purity, flavour, fragrance, and higher nutritional value.

Aroma oils can be used in diffusers, whereas essential oils cannot. This is because essential oils can be too potent, while aroma oils aren't as strong, so these work better without over saturating the room with a smell.

What is Coconut Oil?
Coconut oil is a plant-based oil made out of coconuts. One way coconut oil is produced is by using dried flesh/meat of coconuts, also known as copra. Since the process of making this type of coconut oil takes months the oil has to be refined by being bleached and deodorized to make it suitable for use.
There is also virgin and extra virgin coconut oil which is more organic than the copra-made oil. These oils use the white kernel of the coconut meat. This type of oil is processed while still fresh, rather than being dried. The virgin and extra virgin coconut oils also tend to be higher in nutrients that are beneficial to both health and skin.
