Say Hi! .. to Natural Herbal Teas (and the people who make them)
I like to make some noise about the great organic and natural products on Organics.com, but it's important to give a shout-out to the indy sellers and small businesses behind the products. These are the folk who make sustainable, planet-friendly (and rather gorgeous) products. They deserve a little spotlight.
And, if you love your cup of natural & organic herbal tea, you’re going to love these people.
Thankfully Healthy are very definitely tea people. But not just your everyday tea! Their tea is grounded in the values of Yoga and Ayurveda, and brewed with the expertise of a passionate practitioner. Thankfully Healthy passionately believe that natural herbal teas enhance our physical, mental and spiritual well being. And that sounds good to me!
What is an Ayurvedic Approach?
Ayurveda is an ancient, traditional path to leading a healthy lifestyle - ultimately arriving at the discovery of a blissful balance between the mind and the body. Contemporary life can seem to gradually draw us further away from the core of our healthy being. Ayurveda seeks balance - in our physical and spiritual health. In it, there is no condition that is considered ‘lesser’. Whether it’s poor digestion, low energy or a lack of quality sleep. Ayurveda beliefs see these symptoms as all ultimately coming from an imbalance in one’s natural state of health.
Who Are Thankfully Healthy?
Dipti is the woman behind the Thankfully Healthy brand. Along with her partner, they are wellness practitioners on a mission to bring a treasure trove of Ayurveda we didn’t quite know we needed - yet! This isn't just about tea, this is about our whole being, inside out.
Dipti trained to become a brewer and a talented taster, picking up all the backend bits and bobs of how to run a sustainable business along the way.
In her own words... ‘Thankfully Healthy humbly introduces an essence of the earth back into the core of our lifestyle. Our products are aimed at enhancing one’s physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Grounded in the values of Yoga and Ayurveda, and brewed with the expertise of a passionate practitioner..’
How Did Thankfully Healthy Natural Teas Begin?
Originally from India, Dipti found herself huddled up beside a window on a rainy English afternoon (no surprises there..) watching the rain and thinking of home. The cup of hot herbal tea she cradled on that rainy day was the inspiration. If it could bring her comfort and balance on a dull day, herbal tea could bring moments of joy to anyone.
Dipti decided to dedicate her primary focus to self-care. Based on her knowledge and training in Yoga and Ayurveda she began to experiment with her meals and daily habits – gradually sparking some age-old magic into her everyday life. And the key to it all was her gorgeous homemade brews - Ayurveda-inspired teas that help correct the lifestyle ‘doshas’ or ‘things that can cause problems' - in mind, body and spirit.
With the unique blends of Sattvic herbs, brimming with Ayurveda’s single most important factor of health - Prana, the life force energy, she realised the remarkable potential of Ayurvedic tea in taking care of the body.
..and as a result, Thankfully Healthy was born as a warm way to share wellness, wisdom, and some wholesome positivity. I'm not going to argue with that!
Are natural herbal teas good for you?
What's all the fuss about? Tea is tea, right? Well, no.
With the right ingredients and methods, there are many health benefits in herbal tea. We have crazy lifestyles. Rushing here and there, with responsibilities, stresses, deadlines, bad diets and anxieties. The ‘doshas’ - or things that can cause problems in our bodies, minds and our spirits are heightened. We may have that ‘out of balance’ feeling. Which tend to show up as discomfort, digestive issues, headaches, weight gain or loss, anxiety, even inflammation.
The ingredients in herbal tea can have specific benefits - including digestion, detoxification and appetite balance. Rich in antioxidants, minerals and vitamins, they can help keep the body healthy but also help to relax, recover and refresh the mind. If we really want health benefits, avoid products that contain flavourings, additives and only drink teas that are 100% natural.
It's not rocket science that herbal teas will work best as part of a better, healthier approach to life! If you’re drinking too much, eating badly on the regular and doing zero exercise, you’re unlikely to get the benefits of the amazing ingredients in herbal tea. But as part of a mindful approach to your overall health, they will work 100%.
