Top Tips for Great Natural Summer Skin
Always Use SPF
It’s not news that proper UV protection is the most important step in any skincare routine year-round, but especially during the summer. Days are longer, the sun is stronger and we’re out and about more. Use sunscreen!
It should be a natural or mineral sunscreen with SPF30 or higher, and make sure you apply enough and don’t forget about ears, neck, chest and hands as well as your face.
As well as a good natural sunscreen, limit the time you spend in strong sun, and head for some shade at the hottest times of the day - which for most places is around 12 - 4pm. And a wide brimmed straw hat not only looks great, it’ll protect your face from over exposure.
Use Lightweight Moisturisers
We still need a good natural moisturiser in summer, but dryness isn't as common in the summertime. We don't need a super rich cream like we might use in the winter, and your skin can breathe a little easier.
Discover Natural Facial Oils
A really good, natural facial oil will give skin softness and texture almost immediately. They lock moisture in, and a really good natural and non greasy formula (like most are these days) will add moisture and not clog pores. In summer, a natural facial oil will be enough of a moisture layer under your SPF. A great light weight option for a summer routine, that will deliver the all important hydration.
Be Fussy About Cleansing
More sweat, maybe more activity, more sunscreens all add up to more build up on your skin. Good skin any time of year comes from being fussy about cleansing, and this is especially true in summer.
Good natural, deep cleansers remove all the build up, but won't strip or dry your skin out. Everyday cleansing with good quality natural micellar water or natural facial oil is brilliant. And once or twice a week, go for a deep cleanse with an organic face mask or natural clay cleanser.
Renew Skin with Gentle Exfoliation
