Many people wash their hair every day, some people every other day, others once a week and a few of us never do! Looking after our hair and scalp is important and the ingredients we use in our shampoos and conditioners is something we should take note of not just for the health of our hair but also for the health of the planet.
With more beauty brands paying attention to the way they produce and package their products we were delighted to come across No Ordinary which as the name suggests is no ordinary brand!
The founder Gavin has his own UK Hair Salon in Leicester and through a complete labour of love for people and the planet has created a wonderful range of natural and sustainable haircare and skin care products that are free from filler ingredients or synthetic fragrances.
The essential oils he uses are aromatherapy grade and accredited by the Aromatherapy Trade Council for purity, sustainability and ethical practices. Each ingredient has been chosen, tested and approved based on its purity and effectiveness.
We have selected two shampoos and two conditioners from their award-winning ranges which are vegan and cruelty free. First up is No Ordinary’s Balance Shampoo and Conditioner. In Gavin’s own words he says “Balance your senses and your hair will look after itself” The Lavender and Mandarin infused balancing conditioner has been developed to both soothe the scalp and encourage hair growth and beautiful shine. Ideal for all hair types the natural and organic conditioner also contains Willow Bark extract which helps balance scalp oil levels but still maintains a healthy level of sebum for conditioning and protecting the hair strand.
Ingredients include Organic Oat Kernal Extract, Organic Aloe Leaf extract, Organic Argan Nut Oil, Soap Bark, Lavender, Sweet Orange and Plant derived moisturisers. Any hair care that balances not only your hair but also your mind and senses gets a big thumbs up from us!
The No Ordinary Repair Shampoo is perfect for anyone who has dry or coloured hair. Containing Aloe Vera, Bergamot and Rosemary this natural and sustainable shampoo strengthens damaged hair from colour treatments and regular heat exposure while still promoting healthy hair growth and regeneration of the scalp skin cells. This results in making it far easier to dry hair leaving your hair much smoother and you can even try shampooing your hair less often with no build up of natural ingredients. Both your hair and scalp with feel revived and washing your hair less often cuts down on water use and is ultimately better for the environment…
Other No Ordinary products we selected from Gavin’s range are the No Ordinary Hand Lotion and No Ordinary Hand Wash which make excellent natural and sustainable gifts for environmentally conscious households.
No Ordinary is a brand for “future thinkers, game changers and freedom warriors”, in their words they say “Live your life less ordinary and more extraordinary, take that opportunity to speak up and ask for what you really want and be the person you have always wanted to be”.
